In response to the themes of 'Combating Plastic Pollution' for World Environment Day 2025 and 'Beautiful China, I Lead the Way', Yangzhou Tianying Eco-Energy collaborated with multiple departments in Jiangdu District to host an Open Day event on 5 June. Through on-site visits and various activities, the event aimed to deepen public understanding of environmental protection technologies and encourage widespread participation in ecological protection.
At the event, Tang Qian, Director of the Jiangdu District Urban Management Bureau, declared the ceremony open and emphasised that 'waste sorting and resource utilisation are key to addressing plastic pollution.' Xu Shiming, Director of the Jiangdu District Ecology and Environment Bureau, proposed 'driving green development through technological innovation' and called on all sectors of society to practise low-carbon living. Zhang Xiaokang, General Manager of Yangzhou Tianying, stated that the company will continue to optimise waste incineration technology to support the construction of a 'zero-waste city.'
Participants visited the plant and observed the entire process of incinerating household waste to generate electricity. Through videos and detailed explanations from engineers, the public gained a clear understanding of the waste-to-energy process from waste reception, incineration, power generation, to flue gas purification. Student representatives were amazed by the technological power that enables 'thousands of tonnes of waste to light up tens of thousands of homes every day,' while farmer representatives expressed high recognition of the real-time pollutant monitoring system.
The event showcased environmental protection technologies in a transparent manner, creating a direct window for the public to learn about the industry. The collaboration between the local authority, enterprises, schools, and communities has become an innovative model for mobilising environmental protection efforts. The event promoted knowledge about plastic reduction initiatives and resource recycling, further inspiring the public's sense of responsibility to protect the environment and injecting fresh momentum into the ecological construction of Jiangdu District.
